A Call to Action for Thought Leaders

As a proud Canadian, I am deeply troubled by the lack of diversity in our economy and the persistent pattern of waiting for external validation before taking bold steps forward. Canada is a nation of creators—of groundbreaking technologies, remarkable art, and innovative ideas. Creation runs through our veins; we invest in knowledge, build great things, and yet hesitate to leap until others show us the way.

Too often, we wait for someone else to see the value in what we’ve built. Only then do we step forward, often coming from behind. Our technology is cutting-edge, but our support systems fall short. In music, our artists frequently gain recognition abroad before finding success here at home (just ask Jully Black or Drake). In technology, we wait for international buyouts before realizing the worth of our innovations (consider Wescam or MDA). Time and again, we find ourselves at the mercy of external forces rather than in control of our own destiny.

But hope alone is not a strategy. That’s why I’ve developed a framework—one rooted in structured action and continuous improvement..

The process begins with clearly defined requirements and follows the principles of the Deming Cycle: Plan, Do, Check, Act. Together, we can build a detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to guide the execution of this plan.

Let’s make “Project Canada” the most successful phoenix project of the century, rising stronger, more self-reliant, and more prosperous than ever before
